Capstone Project

My capstone project involves architecture and education. On January 2010, a tragedy occurred in the lands of Haiti killing around 360,000 civilians. The most powerful earthquake in 200 years with a magnitude of seven had struck the region that day. I wanted to help Haiti overcome this tragety and reconstruct their country with education and architecture. I want to design a university that serves as shelter to victims of natural disasters and a place of study. The main focus of the university is engineering and architecture. With around one-third of the campus serving as rooms for the students to live, the university will provide the basic survival needs and the education needed for the country to improve their economy. The survival needs include food, shelter, and medical assistance. After completing their graduation plan, we will support the student when searching for employment. Nonetheless, the students will have to succeed in their academic studies or they will be expulsed from the program. This university is specifically built for low-income citizens who are willing to put their brain at work and use their abilities to improve their country.
